Thee ol' drive and disk swap....
 

I have a couple of boxes that need new drives and stuff....I have one friend that has a thompson drive that is bad and I was going to buy another box and switch them out and sell the box for parts....BUT.....I was told that is HAS to be another Thompson and I can't switch the hard drives....He wants his game saves also....I know I can use evox to get the saves......Can I copy the whole drive letter for the saves? IS there a way to put any drive in the box and does it involve evox....Any help is appreciated

dvd, or hdd? The xbox dvd-roms are indeed compatable with each other. The HDD's are also compatable, but you have to do a little extra work to swap them. It can be any xbox drive.however, to switch them, you need to unlock the drive in your current xbox and the one you're switching with. Then you can switch them. A modchip is needed though.

Ahhhh....Ok....We switched a dvd drive and it would not boot the games.....BUT...it was a Phillips....I heard they were bad....I will do a search on the hard drive lock thing..
