1. is a ethernet card the same thing as a network card?

2. is a ethernet cable the same thing as a crossover cable?

1. Yes - refered to as a Network Interface card (NIC)
2. You can get different types of network cables, for linking direct between Xbox NIC and PC NIC you need a RJ45 Crossover cable
