PS2 Lifespan
 

I was just curious how long some of you have had a modded ps2 in perfect working condition.

thats a simple question

thing that will kill it quicker is

using cheap media ie princo,leaddata.
playing rips
leaving it coated in dust

just clean it as much as u can and it will be fine dont use cheap media and it will last for a long time. the only thing that will die is the laser and if you got a new console it will last along time and if it does which usially goes after 2-3 years just replace it usially costs around 35 pounds to replace and is easy to fit.

What exactly is a rip

a game which was a dvd and bits taken off so it could be burnt onto a cdr

such as the movies and sound has been removed

Almong with demos and other languages =P

I also wouldn't recommend playing TOO many DVD movies with your PS2. Let your Stand alone dvd player do that. I did and my laser is on its way out... My ps2 is a year and a half old too. (V4)

How long do you play? I mean i can go a whole like 8 hours without stopping if i get deep enough into it.

Well I'm not sure what that means? I was curious if playing that long with a moded system could cause problems.

nah it wont cause problems its fine i left my ps2 on for 6 hours straight when it was modded and its fine.
