Best media for playing DVD backups

Whats the best dvd media for playing back-ups of DVD's on average players and the PS2? Ritek dvd-r? Ritek dvd+r?

it doesn't matter if you have a dual burner then as far as i know Ritek +R is more compatible then -R.

thats the other way round mate dvd-r is more compatiable and alot cheaper. i reccomend ritek dvd-r

I appreciate the help. From what I have read around here, Ritek is one of the best. Looks like Ritek -r is the way to go.
