New at burning
I have DVD shrink and DVD decrypter on my computer and a DVD burner. I really don't know what to do with either of them. Can I copy a DVD with just these 2 programs? If not, what else do I need and where can I get it? Thanks

Read the sticky at the top of the DVD Backup Forum to learn a lot.

ok that helped but I only have a pentium 2, a lot of those programs require a pentium 3, is there one that I can use with a pentium 2?

Im thinking your gonna need to upgrade your pc.

I can rip the movie and re author it with dvd shrink, but after that I can't do anything with it. I have dvd decrypter, that should be able to burn the movie according to the sticky, but it won't let me. I can't select the file I need to burn. What am I doing wrong, is there some step that I am not doing? A friend of mine told me I need to pull all the files from the movie into one folder but how and what do I do after that? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you should set the target device to "iso disk image" in dvd shrink, then burn the iso with dvd decrypter.
also your Hard disk format must be NTFS not FAT32 otherwise you get error for iso larger than 4GB. if you don't want re author the movie again with your pentium 2, get clonedvd from here and choose 3rd option and browse to those IFO/VOB files, then burn them. |
What do you mean by setting the target devise, how do I do that? Do you mean when DVD shrink asks for a target folder? Do I create a new folder and name it iso disk image or should there already be a file named that?

when you press the "Backup!" buttun in dvd shrink, you'll see new window that you can select the target device, choose "iso disk image" and it'll create an iso file, burn the file with dvd decrypter.
btw. if you have Nero, you'll see your dvd burner as one of the target devices that by select it, you can directly burn the backup without need to make the iso. |
