Locking hdd or unlocking hdd

Need a little help here. Should I lock my new hard drive that I installed on my box (120gig).Or just leave it like it is? Do I have to unlock the old hard drive that was in my box to use in a pc to formatt it Thank You

I'd lock it. Just so you can hope on XBL.
And yes, your XBox HDD that you want to use in your PC needs to be unlocked before you can use it in your PC.

id recommend not locking it
1) xbox live sucks major ass
2)unless ur 100%, and i do mean the full 100% sure that ur xbox has no risk of bein broken in anyway, then u can lock it.. there is no real point in locking it because all it does is if the chip is off.. it lets u goto msdash... but xbl now has things against new hdds anyway
...
but if u lock ur hdd and the xbox breaks.. there is no way thusfar that can figure out how to unlock it..
what i hadda do was send the hdd back to maxtor
