The Suffering won't play from HD
Backed up The Suffering with no problem to DVD and it plays fine. It will not play from the HD, I tried DVD2XBOX and also FTP'd it but it just hangs on the EVOX load screen. And yes, EVOX IGR is turned off, using 4981 bios.
Maybe needs a patch or something like 007 EON??? Anybody with a solution, let me know. Thanks, Mike T. |
is it like a brand new game? or what..

hmm
who made 007 the new one? |
Yeah the game just came out a couple of days ago. It's made by Midway, 007 was made by EA. It looks like the newer games are doing something different with media checks or something.
Ther must be something in the default.xbe that makes it look for DVD media or something and not the HD, 'cause the DVD copy works fine??? Mike T. |
You need the cracked xbe in order to play from HD, like 007:EON
|
You need to ftp the game to your pc, and crack it.
Anyone here have the crack? |

Here is a supposed fix. Just replace the file of the same name in DVD2Xbox in the "Patches" folder. You will have to save it as NFLFever2004.data a data file. Please reextract your games and post if this works.

I really hope, future cames won't need patching to backup. This is frustrating.
I'll try the patch tomorrow, and see if it works. |
Well this fix is supposed to catch any games that have that particular string. So if other games come with the same protection as The Suffering did, then when this patch data is used in DVD2Xbox it should fix it.
As I dont have the game I wish someone would post if this worked or not. Tyler! |
I'll get the game tomorrow, after I get my pay-check from work, ... and I'll post the results.

hmm.. this is good to know, i hav the suffering (dude its awsome!!) but didnt back it up yet since i didnt upgrade my hdd and i have another game on there now

Good job TYLER. Didn't have to re-extract the game with DVD2XBOX. All I had to do was replace the NFLFEVER data file in the PATCHES folder with the one you posted. Then with DVD2XBOX I just patched the default.xbe file with the "patch to file" command. Works like a charm.
The line below is the one that was in the link you posted that needed to be added to DVD2XBOX NFLFEVER patch data file that already existed on version 054. It seems that this new "protection" is a FATX protection and the patch removes it. Actually, if you add the line below by editing the exisiting patch in DVD2XBOX, it works fine. See below. .FATX Detection Removal;4641545800000000443A5C.0000000000000000000 000! P.S. hope it's ok that I posted the line for FATX removal. Thanks Tyler, you da man! Mike T. |
Thats what I needed to read man. Thank you for the confirmation.

And another one bites the dust!
