ok my ps2 loads dvdr but not cdr
 

dvdr loads good, but cdr loads the playstation 2 logo, then it will make some noises for 3 secs, and just stop there. any ideas? i have a v4 ps2, with a replacement laser. magic 3 modchip. ive tried adjusting the white cog, and nothing still.

u could try setting the read speed to fast if not alrdy but i belive its something much worse then that.

how do i set read speed? it loads the cdr's to the ps2 logo really fast and quick, seems like its gona load the game in a heartbeat but it just stops. its gotta be somethin with the laser cuz my old laser wasnt doin that.

go to options in browser menu.. doesnt ti read ps1 games ?

Yep, read speed is for ps1 games only. Sound like the cd lazing diode in yr laser is worn out. You could try a cleaning the laser head or adjusting the laser but best bet is to ensure that the ps2 still reads original ps1 and ps2 cd's, sell it and buy a more up to date ps2 with a better laser (version 7 or above).

I know the answer. ur loading it as if it were a dvd. u may have to put the disc in then switch it off into standby mode (red light) then boot up from there. thats how i have to load mine coz if i dont it will have the same retarded ps2 sign instead of ps1. ;)
