xbox locked..
this is kinda weird..
my xbox, workin perfectly fine.. i just took it outta my broken box and i tried it in a new one.. and it came up with an error 06, meaning "Cannot unlock HDD" how could i resolve this problem.. given that the xbox i locked it with, no longer works does it matter what box its locked with? and how do i take care of this lil issue..? |
From what i have read, you can't recover the data in the hard drive. I can't remember what post it was but, in order to unlock the hdd u have to get the unique unlock key for that hdd from the xbox it came out of. You use EvoX to get the key (You probably already know this though. Sorry, if i was not any help)

Well... You could unsolder your old EEPROM chip and solder it in to your new XBox and in theory it should work.

Maybe this will help you:
---------------- XBtool 1.0.20 b2 *updated* >> A new version of the XBtool(info) - Bios Packing, Unpacking, and Patching Tool - has been released. What's new/fixed (1.0.20 b1): * Embedded HD Key patch for Evox M7 and X2 4981. Causes the hard drive key to be read from the kernel rather than calculated using the EEPROM & hard drive info. Only applies to unlocking. If you lock your drive while using this patch, the password will still be generated from the EEPROM and HD info. Could be used to recover a locked hard drive. Could also be useful if you use an embedded EEPROM to help prevent your Xbox from being banned from Live! Using this patch you can embed a fake EEPROM and still keep your HD locked. What's new/fixed (1.0.20 b2): * Fix: bug disabled HD key embed in X2 4981. Official Site: http://home.alltel.net/nghtshd/xbtool.html ---------------- |
actually
yea i saw that yesterday but look at this: If you lock your drive while using this patch, the password will still be generated from the EEPROM and HD info. so i figure its too late for it work.. |
