Whats the cause of my PS2 malfunction? When i power on the PS2 the red light will come on the reset button but pressing it will do nothing. The eject light will not come on and pressing does nothing. ALso if i mess with the reset/eject cable, the red light will come on and go off. Either way it wont do anything when pressing the buttons. Is it a bad reset/eject cable? thanks

I guess its the 7wire cable? I have ver7 console. Any good places in the USA/canada area to order form?

OK i have one ordered. I hope to hell that will cure it. I'm having PS2 withdraws:(

maybe a bad solder joint came lose?

would a lose controller port cable (or not attached) prevent the PS2 from powering up?

its possible, if the cable is angled in the clip/socket then you could be shorting a few pins.
