xbox won't recognise originals
I've just got a machine in for repair but the owner apparantly doesn't know what he has done
It boots up fine until you put an original game in the tray. The error message familiar to trying to trying to play a back-up in an unchipped machine appears on screen. Any ideas what this guy has done & whether the machine can be fixed? I've not opened up the machine yet, as I won't take liability for it without further info from him (which he can't provide) so I don't know if a diy chipping job has been attempted. Thanks in advance |
Maybe its a laser that went bad. I figure that if everything else is ok and it boots to the msdashboard then I would look into the laser.

Worth a try m8, but I figured the laser is ok cos its reading the disc but is recognising it as something else.

The machine has gone back home 'unopened'. The guilty 16yr old has refused to accept any responsibility for his actions & won't disclose what he has touched inside the machine.
He won't be getting a new one (or this one repaired) until he confesses all to his Dad lol. |

It's gone back Sean, I'm not gonna spend hours searching for a fault when he knows full well what he has messed with & can point me straight to it!
