newbie help with dvd xcopy platinum
I have just decided to start backing up my dvds and need a little help from some of you that have been doing it for a while. I bought a plextor 708a and dvd xcopy platinum to copy my dvds. I was a little shocked when there were no manuals or guides with the dvd xcopy software (for that kind of money there should be). I was hoping someone could point me in a direction where I might obtain a step by step guide to using DVD XCOPY PLATINUM. I have found some guides for other dvd copying programs, just not for xcopy platinum. Since I am new at this, I need some initial direction.
Thanks Steve |
DVD XCOPY
Word it's really easy if your using the XPress version pop in the dvd hold the shift key down so it doesn't auto start answer the questions, no it's not borrowed, and yes you agree with the disclaimer, and the green start button lights up. Just click start and it will rip the dvd to the hard drive and when it's done ripping ask for a blank dvd. Pop in the blank dvd and the green start button will again light up and just click start to write the movie to the disk.
To use the advanced version you have to click in the little boxes next to the tdf files to add them then when you've put checks next to the tdf files you want you click next. The next screen asks you about compression ratio and since I'm not an expert I leave that up to the program and use the default setting. Then you click next again and it begins to copy the movie to the hard drive when it's finished it will prompt you for a blank dvd again pop one in and hit start and it will write the movie. The difference between the two versions one copys just the movie no menus, extras, or fluff and can fit the movie on one disk I use this 99% of the time myself. I have two kids and back up their movies so it's just easier that way and they just put them in and start playing instead of navigating through the menus. The Advance version copys the whole movie menus and all and allows you much more control over what you copy and also how much compression you want to use. I sometimes have to use this version when a movie won't copy with the other. Here is a link to get a walk through from 321 Studios the makers of dvd x copy. http://forum.321studios.com/?f=68&m=3341 You might also want to check out AfterDawn.com they run a forum all about DVD X COPY and all things related to backing up dvd's and have helped me in the past. Hope this helps:) Delta1 out. |

No problem Word enjoy the program I've had really good results with it and already saved at least 4 dvds that I backed up and my daughter has been beating up the backups and not the originals.
