Lost MS Dashboard :(
 

Hi .. i got my xbox working few months ago and ive been wondering about this... when i select MS Dashboard on evox its suppost to go to the original dash correct? well mine just goes to another evox one (with the default skin on it). Whats happened?

Hi im a noobie and im usually wrong about xbox stuff :o

but im just guessing that u need to edit the evox.ini file because ur M$ dashboard link is probably pointing towards evox again.

yah, open the evox.ini file and make sure t points to the correct file (xboxdash.xbe, or msxboxdash.xbe if you renamed it.)

right i renamed the old file to msxboxdash.. but still when i click on ms dashboard it comes up with the default evox dash, have i lost my xbox xbe file or something? please help

I think you still need to edit your evox.ini so that your ms dash link actually points to "msxboxdash.xbe"

yeh i edit the evox , but the default evox dash still appears.

Does it look like this in ur evox.ini?
MSDashBoard = "c:\msxboxdash.xbe"

it sure does. iv been thinking maybe i copied it sumhow which my evox one?. hmm wat u think?

If ur definite that msdashboard is on the C:\ drive and its named "msxboxdash.xbe" then im puzzled.

i think i know whats happened. i think that as i was replacing and renaming the files do sort evox out i must of renamed the evox xbe to msxboxdash and copied it again to xboxdash therefore it wud come up with it when i clicked msxboxdash wudent it. Thats mean i need to find the orginal Xbox dash xbe from sumwhere?

Try putting a real noncopied music cd in your drive and see what it does. I remember having similar problems and doing that once fixed it.

ok i put a music disk in and it kept opening evox dash board and coming out of it and reloading it again and kept to it all the time. wat does this mean?

Dunno, I guess you gotta find that original dash somewhere.
