Is there a good forum on how to disable Macrovision on your DVD player \VHS recorder?
???
|
from what I know, every player and recorder are different. Maybe if you give us the brand name and model number, we can start to help.
But in short, I found the procedure for mine by searching a new thing called the web (just kidding:p ). Just typed my model number in google and found it. |

OK...now I see what you mean. I thought you knew your player could be cracked but did not know how to do it.
Not all players can be cracked (from what I know). I guess yours cannot unless someone else found a way. Sorry:( |

What exactly did you think I meant:confused: ? When I was searching google I found stuff like this http://www.dimax.com.ua/English/dvd_recorder.htm and was wondering if they really work. Some places even advertised a one time use remote control to permanatly fix most any macrovision recorder and then after you use it you must send it back or be surcharged, I feel a little sceptical about that:rolleyes: . Anybody ever try devices like this with success? |
VHS Recorder to DVD Backup
I had posted an inquiry earlier because I had attempted to back up my wife's VHS library to DVDs using a new Gateway AR-230 DVD recorder.
On about half the VHS tapes that I tried to backup I got the message, "Protected," and the DVD recorder refused to record. After reading about this "DVD Red Pro," it appears this device would solve my problem. Is this a legal device? Does it REALLY work? Thanks for your help. LGS |

Your DVD recorder is on the list so I'd guess your covered. I also have a Panasonic DVD recorder thats on the list but I would really like to make sure it works with my VHS machines also.. The shipping and handling seems awfully high for such a small device so I'll probably do more searching before I buy a device like this. I found that link in about a minute so If I spend a little more time maybe I'll find something more desirable. |
Thanks, "Sams choice"
I'll email them this morning and post the reply . . . . if they answer. |
Received the following from DIMAX:
>Hello. >Yes DVD Red PRO will let you copy protected VHS to DVD recorder. >It will eliminate "Protected" message from your Gateway. >We do provide money back and warranty for 1 year. >Best Regards. >Dimax. I am encouraged and will probably give the product a try. LGS |
