Xbox HDD expert Needed!!!!!
i want to use my xbox hdd as a slave drive through a USB external cradle. i placed the hdd in the cradle and plugged in the usb. the pc picked up the hdd but it won't show it. i assume because of the password or lock on the xbox hdd.
i have read all the tutorials on using the xbox hdd in your pc but they are for primary use and i don't have an extra pc to use with the boot disk. so basically i'm wondering if there is any other way the format the hdd or a sweet ltttle trick to get my pc the recognize the hdd through the usb cradle Thanks in advance berzyzballz**********com |
I think you need to unlock the xbox drive first.

ok unlocking it shouldn't be a prob. just a matter of popping my new HDD out of my xbox and putting the old one in and running config magic
but how do i format it once it is unlocked with out using a boot disk. |
fist make sure the HDD is unlocked by using say config magic or slayers disc.
Then pop the HDD inside your PC, or caddy. Hope your running 2k/xp!! Right click on my computer and go to manage, then disk mangaement. Here u should see your HDD with a error. Right click on it and you can partion and format it all from here. Thats the best way to do it Peter |
if ur using 95/98/me
make a boot disk insert the boot disk load the pc and run it with cdrom support msdos prompt loads type in " format C:" or what drive it is. then it will ask u to confirm and press Y and then it will format the hdd:D |
