Dvd X Copy Platinum ?

Well,
Anyone used this program?
I was thinking of buying a copy to backup my movies. Anyone know if its anygood?
The site seems to think its ace but i dont trust anything like that. It has automatic compression and alsorts of extra stuff.

Woth the money? Or not..?

Any information or other programs you use would be great.

this post should be moved

Moved

Now what are you looking for when backing up your movies? Are you planing on keeping the the full movie and having it reencoded to fit on one dvdr. Or are you wanting to split a dual layered movie onto 2 discs.

I want compression so i can have menus, extras and everything else on one dvd.

EDIT
ok.
Tyler my good man. Move it for me :D

I personally dont like Dvd X Copy Platinum because I dont like the BS with that company. My man Bighap swears by it but thats just him.

Anyways, I personally like CloneDVD. With it you get to choose to take out certain segments of the dvd for better picture after compression. As well as select which audio tracks you want to keep. It also lets you keep menus.

Ta TD.
I think i will have a look about with the demo, and see what else i can find.
Personally a dont like paying for software like that as it is usually just freeware thats been piled together and flogged as original.

I will just have to see what gives me the best results

You can get DVDShrink thats freeware and it does a great job on shrinking dvd down to size. It wont allow for completely deleting certain vids but it can cut them down to very small sizes by making the vids skip every couple of seconds or so.

I just like CloneDVD because it leaves me a much cleaner job. Maybe eventually youll see that its worth its cost. Or maybe another freeware will come out by then with those features.

Platinum works for most people but it is still a little buggy and doesn't work for everyone. It allows you to choose your audio options, remove any titlesets you dont care to have, and customize the compression level on specific titlesets. If you just want to keep everything and use compression just use dvd shrink.

Yeah but in most cases there is no need to keep the FBI Warning or some of those annoying previews.

I personally have got DVDxCopy Platinum and it works fine for me when copying PAL movies. I have backed up several movies now onto dvd+r and are all very good quality, I also found it easy to use rather than using several programs but everyone has there fav programs that they prefer.

DVD X-copy platnium does a good job for me (nice quality picture), but like someone else said it does have its bugs. I personally see no reason for the annoying backup screen (luckily someone made a hack for this), and I've noticed that the sofware freezes if I have my HP printer turned on.

I also think it should have more features for the price. It should be an all in one burning solution, not just for copyright movie backup.. The software is very limited for my burning needs but it shines where most other programs sometimes flop.
