Stickers on CD-R's/DVD-R's
Is it safe to put a sticker on a CD-R or DVD-r if i'm going to use it in my PS2 (The Sticker covers the whole CD/DVD)
I was wondering because sometimes my Games come out of the PS2 a bit hot, and the heat on the sticker could cause a problems. Thanks in advance 2 anyone that can help |
yeah its safe. I know somebody who put those cd/dvd cover stickers on and have no problem at all.

Contrary to Bushwicks friend, I have read many and I mean many posts where people state that putting those label stickers on their backups and then having problems with them. Do a search on this forum Im sure youll find a few posts here where this has been debated before and youll see the outcome.

Thanks for the replies
I searched round and have decided not to label my DVD-R Backups. But wat about CD-R Backups (Both PS2 and PSX games) Would they have the same problem? Also, can any type of CD be labelled? By this i mean can any CD be labeled? |
Those CD-label thing is a product made from hell.
If you choose to label any cd or DVD then make sure that it it 100% clean before putting the label on. I have labeled some cd before and most of them still work but it is enough that a little bubble /that you hardly can see and it begins to skip, freeze and a "Diskread error" will show up. Nowdays I never labels any of my cd's or dvd's. It is just so not worth it. |

It has happend on PS2 DVD games, movie DVD and CD-r audio for me.
It is that the sticker makes the disc to be unbalanced. in a old ps-one/psx grey brick it can work. Thay don't spin so fast. I had a moviebackup here and the sticker looked alright, but at a sertain point it couldn't read the disc anymore. my burner could read it (with some diffaculties) it takes so little to get the disc unbalanced. Havn't testes any psx cd-r backup that are labled in my ps2 yet. I using my old ps-one for those (it is so nice to play quiet sometimes, the ps2 fan is way too loud) |
