i've installed this chip into my ver 10 ps2....when i power it up im getting a black screen the disc spins for a few seconds then stops...ive tried holding X to boot the dvd-r's but still no joy...when i hold eject on start up i get the boot up screen(the swirls)and it will play originals but i get the "please insert a playstation 2 format disc"when a dvd-r is in so it seems to be disabling the chip ok when eject is pushed......any ideas why its not booting backups poss bad install/which wires are the likely problems ????:confused:

its a bad install

check the cd/dvd controler there usialy the suspect for this. if you dont know what they are its the pads you had to solder on check the diagrams again http://www.dms3.com/cgi-bin/dms3/dia...0_DMS3_MOBO_TL
