devil may cry 2 and record now max

Hi guys. I've been using record now max for quite sometime now and I'm very pleased with it. However, today I encountered a problem. I tried to make a backup copy of Devil May Cry 2. It's in 2 dvds. I made an image and copied the first disk without a problem. The second disk though, after about 55% of the reading process, is a failure because the program gives me the error " px engine error (command 28 Sense:03 ASC:11 ASCQ:00) reading from disk". If one goes to the help file of the program, one will see that this error means an unrecovered read error. I'm doing the read and write process exactly as written in the guide in this forum. Can anyone help me in this? Has anyone encountered and overcame this problem? Or is it hopeless? Does this mean that there's something wrong with the second disk or is it the writer's-software's problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Make sure your disc is clean and scratch free before attempting to back up your disc.

Thanks for your reply. So you mean the second (the original second), disk is dirty and scratched? I'll check it with dvd x rescue and see what it'll come up with.

Yes. That error is associated with having a scratched or dirty original.

surely there are scratches underneath the disk, so i guess that's it. What confuses me though is that both disk 1 and 2 were found "bad" by dvd x rescue. For disk 2 i can understand it. For disk 1 though? since it was read and written ok? Maybe it's a certain point in the disk 2 where a scratch was made and it made significant damage in that area.
