So, big problem... don't understand W32DSM.
another "alternative" soft?
for you, what are most effective tools for cracking?

w32dasm, ida, hiew, hex workshop, softice, some handy tools although if you cant figure out w32dasm theres little hope of you mastering the others heh, learn asm first i guess

A brain, some nerves, pen + paper, some knowledge about the protection (not necessary), time...a couple a beers;)

it is an executable disassembler wich translates the compiled exe code into assembly language.

already mentioned the best.

browse the web for tutorials and start reading...
don´t forget the beers, eh ByteMare ? ;)

and the all important pencil and paper, i upgraded my pen to a pencil and never looked back, cos u can undo the mistakes in your notes ;).. beer, amongst other things tends to bring the mistakes flooding in heh

Upgraded? :D Why don't you use tippex to correct mistakes? (Sorry, I just couldn't resist, promiso *heh*) Seriously, getting drunk whilst reversing tends to screw it up...but a beer or two can be fine...yeah yeah, there're ppl who passes out after 1 beer :) Somebody stop me before I go totally OT...
