Daze and Confused!

Daze and Confused.

Hi guys, after reading a ton of posts here on which chips to get I’ve finally decided on the DMS3. So I decided to check out the DMS3 Forum to see what they have to say about the chip and wow oh wow was there a ton of post from peoples who is having problem with that chip. Some have problem before flashing their chip to v 1.8 and some afterward. My ps2 is a V9 and from what I’ve read the DMS3 v9 is already flashed with v1.8. I don’t really care bout the cost of the DMS3 but I don’t want to go through the hassle of sending my ps2 back and forth to get it fix. My question is does anyone here have problem with the DMS3 v9 chip + the v9 ps2 or just those other guys on the DMS3 forum are really unlucky with their installation? Oh and another question is as an alternative to the DMS3 chip what is the next best chip to get? I’m thinking of having Norcalmod do my installation.

Much thanx for any insight/reply you guys can give.

Spedmetal is a good choice, He has posted photo's of his work here at FF and has a excellent reputation. As far as a alternative to the DMS3 goes i would say the Magic V 50k chip is a good chip for the V9 and its inexpensive.

True That! Spedmetal is your best choice and as far as the magic V and the dms3 chips go, both work well, just depends on what you want to put into it. I can vouch for spedmetals work. He is very good at his work. Top Notch quality...;)

long time no see. i would say if you want the basic functions of a modchip go for magic 5 if not and want all those extra features go for dms 3 or the ripper 2.

Well i had a v9 with magic V and it died :( i may had been one of the unlucky ones but i got a v9 now with dms3 and its working great no problems at all with it i never heard of any problems with dms3 and v9/10 what forums did u read this on? was the problems killing the units due to EEPROM or just the flashing part cause i never plan to flash the chip unless i relly have to.

EVOevo the forum I went to is from the dms3 website www.dms3.com.

Thank you all for the reply, just ordered the magic v chip + installation + return from spedmetal today, I also sent out my ps2 today also...I'll let you guys know how it went, though from what I've read I'm pretty sure spedmetal would do a superb job on it and I wouldn't have any problem with it.
