Best Non Solder Mod
Hi,
im a very big beginer to the xbox scene and would like to know what is the best chip to use? |
Hey there,
Personally I recommend the X-BIT. Works in every version of xbox out, extremly well built and doesn't come misaligned like the matrix. I noticed your from the UK. I get mine from www.divineo.co.uk. Hope this helps, J |
Seany you suprise me. I would have figured you had done a search first as this has already been posted. Like a day or 2 ago.

Then why not post in that same thread?
Tyler! |
i think i might get a x2 because i like the new bios. when is the x3 coming out?? but i carnt seem to find this bios!
definitly Xbit, i think!
completly solderless, compatible with v1.0-v1.5, transfer of files to the flash is handled by a built in USB controller... good, isn't? |
x2.3b lite (lite+ for solderless). The xbit is probably the best chip out at the moment, buy unless your a dev, it is way overproced for standard use.
here's a wired question about the X-BIT. Does it have to be constantly pluged into the usb? A few things I've read were kind of un-clear
no, you only need to plug it into the usb when you wanna flash your bios
cool, if i do get an xbit can i use the x2 4981 bios?
yup. You can actually use 6 if em if you really wanted lol.
i red a review on the xbit eirlier not on my comp though and it had some negatives. i try and find the review again and post it here. does the xbit allready have the pogo pins on it or do i need to buy a special one?
if you find it post the review Sean. I don't remember where I saw it but somebody reviewed all the soldeless mods and the Chemlieon was the chip that was the best.
here ya
POSITIVE: + 2MByte flash size + 6 different bios split-ups possible and upto 6 different bioses on chip. + PC flashing via USB (no compatibility problems) + High quality PCB board + External adaptor with bios selector and en/disable switch+led + 3 ways to install it - you can choose + Pogopin/soldeless install: aligns very easily and stable + Wire-install: using connector so no need to solder on modchip + Optional en/disable with power-button NEGATIVE: - Very slow USB flashing/erasing - HeaderPin install: Male headerpin soldered directly on X-B.I.T motherboard - No flash disable (but you can flash via USB ... so it's really no must-have feature) - Bug in flash software if you put window to background (will be solved soon) - Can't flash directly with Xbox software yet (needs update of evo-x probably). |
