silver ps2+messiah 2
 

ok i installed the messiah 2 1.33b into my silver ps2 50003 it was working perfect for about 3 days,then it suddenly stopped reading the discs! nothing now works originals,backups,dvd films etc,when u insert a disc it spins for about a second then spins for another second then spins for a while then stops.all i get is the browser screen on the ps2.......any ideas...i thought it may b the laser,poss adjustment required?.....how do you adjust the laser?

help me out here tyler......i know its the laser(ive tried it in another un-chipped silver ps2 and it does the same things)is it a new laser required(will that go the same way)or just re-alignment required????

Well hopefully its just the laser. Have you tried the laser from the unit you tested your laser in?

i was going to try putting the other laser into the chipped ps2...but surely the risk of that one going tits up is very high?..i don't want to ruin 2 lasers....any ideas...anyone

Maybe you just had a bad laser. Ive seen a case of that myself when a brand new unmodded ps2's laser just quit 2 days after being purchased.

I dont see anything bad happening to your friends laser in your ps2. The only modchips that had anything to do with lasers were Neo chips.
