DVD burner can only read CD-Rs
Ok, here's what happened:
I gave my PC to a friend to install a new hard drive & when I got my system back, my DVD burner can only read CD-Rs! No DVDs or DVD-Rs! If a DVD is in the drive, it acts like it doesn't exist. Unfortunately my friend is away for about a week & I have no way to get in touch with him to ask him what he did. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drive in Device Manager, I've tried unhooking the cables from the drive, restarting Windows & then hooking it back up as well as any thing else I could think of & no dice. Has anybody else had this problem & knows how to fix it? For what it's worth, I'm running XP Pro & my burner is an LG 4040b. If you require more info, let me know. Please email me Thanks! |
He may have changed your jumper settings. Check to make sure your burner is set as master.
