what do u suggest

hi

but i just remembered i had my dreamcast
i have a couple cdi files
how do u guys recommend i burn em? using what?
(to make em self-boot without the boot cd..)
thanks

You'll need Discjuggler for CDI files. But you have to chck if your burner is compatible with that program first.

AXmichigan 05-01-2004 15:23

y would it need to be compatible with it?.... also how do i check?

AXmichigan 05-01-2004 18:10

discjuggler doesnt work on my computer..
i heard good things about alcohol 120%.. could that work?

djgarf 06-01-2004 03:55

i have always used alcohol 120% to burn dreamcast cdi files and it has never caused me any problems :)

AXmichigan 06-01-2004 14:14

are they self-boots?.. i mean with no boot cd?
...
any place for a good tutorial?..
what about for files that have imgs..?

djgarf 07-01-2004 11:23

i dont think i have ever seen a non boot cdi image before!

AXmichigan 07-01-2004 12:30

so that means for cdi's i needa boot cd.. no matter what?
..
and also.. what do i use for .img's?
one more thing.. i just saw this .sbi file.. would i needa convert the cdis to that kinda file to get the games and such to boot without the utopia boot cd and boot by itself?

djgarf 07-01-2004 14:13

no cdi files should as a rule always be selfbooting!
.sbi files are for use with selfboot inducer which is available from www.sbiffy.com
.sbi files are for homebrew and emulators only but there is quite a lot of fun stuff to play with there and the great thing about .sbi files is u can put loads of stuff on the same disk with a nice menu to select what you want to use!

AXmichigan 07-01-2004 14:28

so if i burn my cdi's using like alcohol 120% itd just go straight to the game?

djgarf 08-01-2004 03:04

yep stick it in and turn it on and away you go :)

AXmichigan 08-01-2004 14:17

awesome
thanks
