Need Help!!!!
 

Hello,
as I am new to all this backup stuff,i bought myself swap magic.2
to play my backups!!but by now several problems have come up!

1. i heard that swap magic might damage my ps2(?),
2. i made a few backups of games like "enter the matrix" and "gta:vice city" and they are working fine,but now i tried to backup "nfs:underground","manhunt","true crime:streets of l.a." and after the intro the game freezes.

i don't know what i'm doing wrong,so maybe you guys could help me(!?)

i'm using;

lsg gsa 4040b dvdram burner,
sunstar dvd-r media,
copying with nero 6(make an image on hardrive etc.)

Swap Magic is GHETTO! Your backups are probably fine but they need a real modchip to be played without problems.

but can somebody tell me where in germany i can get a "good" modchip,and if there is any service that can install this modchip???

R u useing a slide card or no solder chip or flip top with the swap disk ? cause all them games play just fine besides truecrime u would need a cd loader but manhunt and nfs unground play fine with swap disk

but there's one more thing i need to know!!

is there a list existing where i can see which games aren'T working with a swap magic slide card(v.3)?

in fact there's another thing i need to know,
is there a difference between mods for pal ps2 and ntsc ps2?

because all the modchips that you speak about at the other threads aren'T available in germany or seem to have different names here!!

There will never be a list for Swap Magic here at least as long as I moderate these forums. Lists for ghetto mods are crap! Heck lists in general are crap!


You can either import a chip for a pal version ps2 or you can find a german board that knows their stuff about modifying ps2s. Hopefully they are smart enough to hate swap magics too.

Well, the Final 4 chip is a clone or it's actually a DMS3 chip.
They have put Final 4 text on it but it still have the DMS3 logotype.

The Final 5chip is a Messiah 2 also there it is or isn't a clone.

I say this only by the pictures they have so don't shoot me if I'm wrong...
