hi Quall

Can you help me here?

rms2001 03-01-2004 05:21

You mite want to post what you need help with

Oh, Melbourne what? FLA or Au?

squallseifer 03-01-2004 05:30

re

lol of course. Sorry

Seeing as you replied so quickly can i ask you for help regarding how to prepare a bootable cdrw with boxplorer and evox?
I plan to install evox using Quall's guide thru boxplorer.

Would u be able to help me with a "hand-holding guide"
I seem to be very talented in not being able to do it properly

btw I'm from Melbourne, Australia

squallseifer 03-01-2004 05:40

this is what i have done:

i have a temp folder on my pc named "xbtmp"
inside that i have another folder named "evolutionx"
inside evolutionx i have extracted using craxtion the "evox.iso"
also inside "xbtmp" is the extracted misc files in the boxplorer zip
having also extracted the boxplorer iso (from the boxplorer zip file) into "xbtmp"
finally uisng craxtion again, i dragged the "evolutionx" folder and all the extracted files and folders from "xbtmp" and dropped them into craxtion and then created an iso named evox
which i then burned

i really hope that makes sense to anyone, and if so what am i doing wrong?

rms2001 03-01-2004 05:40

Well sorry I can't help ya with that. I know nothing about boxplorer.

But since Quall is now here, he can help. :D

Australia nice. Melbourne had one hell of a fireworks show the other day.

squallseifer 03-01-2004 05:43

thank you anyway for replying rms

its also good to see some Americans who are respectful towards us Aussies.

Poor Quall i was hoping someone else could help me coz ive been working Quall for the past few days trying to help me.

Quall999 03-01-2004 05:45

lemme give a brief statement on what has bean happening. Well first, squallseifer, I believe you are creating the image right. After you create the image, try extracting it to another folder. It will show u what exactly is in the iso.

Anyways, squallseifer was trying to install evox via boxplorer. Evox doesn't show up in the D drive in which it was also burned to the disk with boXplorer (hopefully). Anyways, when in boxplorer, it seems that the 2 area selections (A and B) are not shown in the upper corner, and L/R doesn't switch locations. This is where we have a problem.

And for the future, squallseifer, no need to make topics directly to me, as these forums are full of helpfull people.

squallseifer 03-01-2004 05:49

Ok i just extracted my created iso to a folder on my pc
It is apparent that evolutionx folder is not being included
the result is i see the folder "media" and "default.xbe

With this boxplorer does boot up as revealed, however evox does not appear on drive d: cdrom

Quall999 03-01-2004 06:48

media and default.xbe are the parts of boxplorer.

In iso craxtion. hit File->iso creation mode.

Then, click the "add" button on the lower left of craxtion. Go to the folder that boxplorer is in, then hit ok, then finish. All the folders/subfolders in the folder you selected should be included.

I’m curious. Why not just boot your XBox with EvoX, FTP in and upload EvoX to your XBox? This seems a lot easier to me…

:p I love Australia. If I could I would drop every thing right now hop on a plane out of LAX and be there in 16 hours. Australia has some of the beautiful and interesting places in the world IMO. And the beaches are great, the nude ones are even better. :D :D :D Got some funny cars, but I could learn to live with that. LOL I'd just take my Jeep with me, I'm sure it would fell right at home going off on the dirt roads for hours on end.

Any way this is getting off topic.

Quall999 03-01-2004 09:31

My aunt moved to Austrailia (about 9 years ago), liked it so much that she is still living there. I love tyhe accent she has now when she's on the phone. And yah, way off topic lol.

And I also recommend the ftp, which was suggested in an email I sent a while ago. It is far quicker and easier, since you he only main reason for evox is ftp anyways.

AXmichigan 03-01-2004 11:57

hehe i still find it hilarious that the thread is called hi quall

squallseifer 03-01-2004 13:46

The reason why i do not want to ftp to my pc and install evox, is because i do not have the cables or the knowledge.
Surely someone has installed evox thru boxplorer and if they could post up how to create their disc it would be grand.

aka noob

squallseifer 03-01-2004 14:10

Quall as usual u solved the problem of evox not being included
When i browse the d drive i now see the evox folder and everything. However there are still no "A" or "B" labels in the top right hand corner of boxplorer. Is my boxplorer copy buggered?
If so can u recommend to me where i can get a working copy?
Cheers

squallseifer 03-01-2004 17:55

Patience is the something to success

Finally i fixed all my probs and installed EvoX w00t
damn im a noob.

Anyway the "A" n "B" panels are in the 96 beta versions of boxplorer and i was using 90 beta.

Thanx a lot for all the help guys especially Quall
Thanx for ur patience mate.
