DVD+ or DVD-
Hi there,
When I want to copy dvd games for the psx2 do I need a dvd+r disc or a dvd-r disc? Thanx in advance LeBigBrother |
It depends, what type of dvd burner do you have? Does it burn
-D or +D or both. If both go with -D. |
-r
|
Thanx
Thanx for helping me out!

Can Somebody Tell me Why Dvd-?
Wont it work on a DVD+R ? Im new To This DVD Stuff i just got a new compy with a DVD+R Burner , dint use it yet |
It may work.
They are just different formats. Most dvd lasers are able to read -R easier while +R may need some tweaking to get it to work. Or it may not work at all. Your best bet is -R. But test it out first. I would make a backup of a dvd movie and test in your ps2. Since you dont need a chip to play dvd movie backups this will be a quick confirmation. If your having troubles booting your movie that tells you that you may have problems booting PS2 dvd games in +R format. Tyler! |
Thanx i will try that :)
My old ps2 Is broken cos of that Neo 2.2 Chip :( Next week i Get the Ps2 Limited Edition, Which Mod Chip Do u Recommend ? ( And one That Wont Damage My ps2 ) Thanx |
if its a v7 unit the DUO chip works great and cheap
if its a v9 unit smart chip works great as well and also cheap if its a v10 unit im not sure if smart chip works but magic 50k or messiah 2 1.33b should do the trick |
Verbatim -r.........no problem (tested 30)
TDK +r................hard time getting to work (tested 10) Philips +r............no problem so far (only tested 5) |
