Copying to HDD
Whats best people? I might as well enjoy my new hdd so Im putting all new games that Ive bought on the hdd rather to disc.
But I gotta ask: Is it better to ftp to pc hdd then back to xbox? Or Is it just fine to transfer from original game to xbox via XBcopy or any other app that allows such a thing? If there is a better app than the one I posted about feel free to comment about it as well. Tyler! |
boxplorer baby
its a beauty |
or dvd2xbox to rip to xbox-hdd (so pc is not needed). boXplorer is much nicer to look at and easier to use, but sometimes i get errors when dong some disks, which i don't get with dvd2xbox.

Try PX Hdd loader v1.3. Just got released today, 16th Dec.
|
Ill check out that PX HDD loader thing when I get it and have time to use it. I got a chance to try out DVD2Xbox yesterday and it was very easy to use. I just had to edit the XML so it sends my games to the right folder where I have them.

let everyone noe how ur results went

boXplorer kicks ass! that's what i use to transfer from game to hdd.
|
I have been trying DVD2Xbox because I had that first. But that has been working great. It seems to do everything automatically.
Ill get back with everyone when I get a chance to use the other programs out there. Tyler! |
i think boxplorer will win..
but lets see this new dealy |
Hmm sorry i asking a related question in another thread...
i just saw this now But how do u use boxplorer to backup games from HDD? Is it just a matter of creating a folder of the game on hdd then copying the dvd data into it? |
That is exactly what you do.

Damn i am smart...no im not
Thanx Quall, i'm trying to backup my Nba Live 2004 Disc onto my xbox, coz its currently my most frequently played game and i can only put one game on my hdd anyway...However the disc is around 6gb and i only have around 4.7gb left. Do you know what i can remove to make it fit? Or would it still be too much? |
according to the xbox game size list sticky, PAL Nba Live 2004 is around 3.11gb. Does anyone know what specific files/folder on the disc dont need to be included in order to make it smaller to 3.11gb? Because exploring the disc with boxplorer tells me that the disc is around 6gb

????????
TYLER, you got me a bit confuzzled! In my post "MSDASH HELP", you had mentioned that DVD2XBOX was the way to go. I thought that this has been your program of choice from the getgo???
Well, anyway now that I've used both HDDLOADER & DVD2XBOX, I feel more comfortable with DVD. It's very fast and the XML file was already defaulted to my F: games drive. I didn't have to do anything but push start. HDLOADER was a little nicer to look at and was also fast but I just kinda' liked DVD better. I never tried Boxplorer, maybe I'll give it a shot for the hell of it. My whole collection is on my HD now and loading times are a breeze. Have fun! Mike T. |
hehe
