Apple V5...Please Help
 

I had a buddy install a Apple V5 for me....We can not seem to get it to work......I understand that you have two wires...and 8 solder points.....the box is a version 1 and we have another that is version 5.....He tried the version 5 just to see if it was something else....And now the eject button flashes orange...Weird.....Can anyone help me with this...I was trying to get them to my buddy for Xmas.....PM me tonight if you want or anytime...Thanx

Yeah I believe it was ....But I think he tried another cable also...But I can not be sure.....But on the other one... version 1.0.... Do you solder the chip to the board through those 8 points? and use only two wires?...this is not my thing so I am a novice at the boards and wiring...etc..etc.. On the version 5.....The light is just orange with no picture....Thanx for any help you can give..

i dont get the two wires dealy..
there should be a wire for each point...
and one for the d0
it could be right though
i dunno apples too well
orange is usualy for the audio/video cable
its the red that u dont like

I fitted the Applex-v (1st chip i've ever done) and didn't have any problems... Used the underboard point for 'd0' and the 'fuse' point for 'd1' - didn;t experinece any difficulties with this chip...

how many wires did you use....2? Did you fuse the chip to the board or use the wires instead?

Make sure your using the right version. Also, after it is installed. Hold the power button for 2 seconds or so when powering on the xbox, see if that works.

make sure you have the right d0 and d1

v1.0-v1.1, v1.2-1.4, and version 1.5 each have mildly different points to solder.

I used a pin-header' to connect the chip to the board (i removed several pins as you only need 9) and then i just had 2 wires to solder ('d1' and 'd0'). Used flux 1st to ensure a good&quick solder to the points on the board and then powered it up - job done.
