Is the video stabilizer absolutely necessary for the DMS3 V.9?

www.foundmy.com apparently said it's important. I'm only planning to run my PS2 by connecting directly to the TV or a video scaler. Will I still need the video stabilizer even though I watch only DVD's and play ps2 games? Thx

Not needed. The video stabilizer just removes macrovision.

Well the V9 didnt last long did it?? Perhaps Sony updated because of all the v9 problems. IMO Sony updated the laser in the v9 and made up for the cost by downgrading the MB. Now they use cardboard instead of foam for shipping. Getting awful cheap if you ask me.

v9s in uk are packaged with foam or cardboard so dont rely 100% on identification this way
