PS2 V9 USA Bad Choice ?
 

Are the PS2's that were recently released in the US (V9) having problems only when a modchip are installed ? Or are they having other problems not associated with modchips ?

well the babies play fine it just cereten mod chips that will fry the system like the m2 1.33 or the magic V chips but i think peps used magic V on there v9 instead of magic V 50k that was prob the problem with them and m2 has 1.33b now said to fix the problem but i got me a v9 with a smartchip which i should have back firday :) and also the swap magic cd disk dont work on these the reson why i dont know but the dvd disk dose and theres a fix for the cd version that u load onto the mem card but the reson why they have probs with the chips is i think sony planed it that away to keep chipers away.

I got a version 9 with M2 1.33b an it works like a dream. Can well recommend it.;)

also, its worth noting that the majority of fried v9's have been PAL consoles as opposed to NTSC.
