I've looked but can't find it...
My ps2 is scph 30001 r, date code 1d it was bought in Canada and the serial is U3117200... can some one help with the version?
|
Sounds like a v5/6

Thanks Tyler.... I looked some more... can it be a v5/6 without the 3rd screw?
|
If you only have 2 screws in the expansion bay it is a v4.
|
judging by the R and the datecode Biggie its a v5/6. If I remember correctly V4's datecode only went up to 1b.
Or you can just match the motherboard to one you see on a diagram. Tyler! |
There are 3 Motherboards for the SCPH 30001R Version 4 and 5 and 6
just depends on those silly little screws. lol |
So.... I'm still not sure. How can I tell by looking at the motherboard?
Anyone have links to pics of the different boards? Thanks! |

Would Magic 3.1 be the best chip for a v4?
EDIT: I found this site while looking for chips - has a good description of versions... http://www.modchip.ca/help/whatps2.php |
Actually Id recommend a Duo Chip or Apple Chip for a v4. Apple's only cost $20 w/free shipping and Duo's cost $21 w/free shipping.
Only real differene between the 2 is that the Duo has 17 wires to connect and the Apple has 22 (I think). This is based on NTSC systems only. go here for more details on everything www.modchips.cc Tyler! |
