Trouble identifying copy protection with Beyond Good and Evil

I have no idea what kind of copy protection this new release, Beyond Good And Evil (3 disc set, the 3rd being the PLAY disc, which I assume also has the copy protection) is.

On the inner CD 1 is the marking "Sono press". Don't know if that means anything. Anyhow, it's one of those anoying games that actually slows down performance of the game when run from the PLAY disc and I would very much like to get the game to run from my Hard Disk instead.

1:1 image is possible with Alchohol and CLoneCD. But so far, it just quits to the desktop with Securom and Safedisc emulation.

Any help would be appreciated. And YES, I DID buy the game.

Try scanning it with ProtectionID.

Unknown Protection

Did that already and it comes up under "unknown protection". Also unknown through ClonyXXX and Alcoholer. That's why I'm trying to figure out what copy protection it is. Must be new.

Just in terms of behaivior, even with a full install, the CD drive where the PLAY disc is, gets accessed during several "Checkpoints" in the game. The install is like 2GB on the Hard Drive, so I doubt it's actually accessing data. It just verifies that the CD is in the drive. Very annoying. Might be some kinda CDChecks, but don't know.

Anyhow, the game just came out a day ago, so it'll probably take some time for cracks to show up.

I hear Beyond Good and Evil is a short game, so I'll probably have it finished before the cracks come out ; )

Still, I'd like to go back to the game once in a while without having to dig around for a CD.

Thanks, anyhow

Tages blues

Was wondering who the developers of Tages are. It sounds French. I really hate this type of copy protection. It it sooo uncrackable? What other titles have used them?

Thanks, all.

shouldn't supprise me if Fairlight crack it soon. Becuase they have very much fun or experince of XIII wich is also tages protection.
