Install other things on your dashboard?

I got my Evox dashboard up and running but now I wish to install other programs like XBMP and other things that may come along.

For example I just got this program called Xboyadvance v8 and Im not sure how to use it. I would like to either install it on my dashboard to boot up some of my GBA games or if I need to boot it via an RW.

Anyboy that has any info on how to do this, I would be very greatful.

Just edit the Evox.ini to the below. Use E:\ partition if you haven't got a bigger Hd i.e 120GB otherwise it would be F:\ instead. Create a folder named Emulators then a sub folder to whatever the pro/emu it is your copying. Re-boot and select Emulators from the Launch Menu option and the emu should work from there.

Here is an example of mine.

}
Section "Launch Menu"
{
Section "Games"
{
# Line "- Auto Items -",2
SortStart
AutoAddItem "F:\games\"
SortEnd
# SortAll

}
Section "Apps"
{
#
SortAll
AutoAddItem "F:\applications\"

#
}
Section "Emulators"
{
# sortAll
AutoAddItem "F:\emulators\"
}

}
}

Hope that helps you out.

Ok but what section does that go under? I mean where exactly do I put that?

All you would need to do is change the F:\ to E:\ for the emulator settings describe here below or the above. If you don't have this section in the version of Evox.ini, just copy this to the 'Launch Menu section which you should already have. This method is the easiest to do.
Section "Emulators"
{
# sortAll
AutoAddItem "f:\emulators\"

}

}
}

Another method of this this is here where you manually add stuff your self, which is somthing like this, yet i would stick to what i've mentioned above as it's quicker and easier.

}
Section "Emulators"
{
# Item "MameX","e:\emulators\MameX\default.xbe"
Item "SnesX","e:\emulators\snesX\default.xbe"
Item "FBAX","e:\emulators\FBAXbeta\default.xbe
Item "Dgenx","e:\emulators\Dgenx\default.xbe"
Item "Nes-X","e:\emulators\NesX\default.xbe"
Item "PSX","e:\emulators\pcsxbox\default.xbe" sortAll
AutoAddItem "e:\emulators\"
}

}
}

WOOHOO! I got it. I just used the autoadd function and it works. I think I got the hang of it now. I guess eventually Ill try the manual adding thing.

At first it's a bit awkward to get used to things and it's tricky sometimes to explain it a bit. Glad i could help out though! :)

TylerDurden 26-11-2003 17:36

Yes I meant to also say thanks to you all for helping me on and off the site. BIG THANKS!!!

Tyler!
