digital output mod...
 

I saw this artical on X-box scene

and I was wondering if you have this mod do you need a set of speakers with 5.1 decoding on them or is it "on board" with the x-box and you just need PC style 5.1 speakers?

as far as i know does the xbox only have a digital output option. De xbox doesn`t have the digital decorder in itself. You`ll have to have a decoder in the pc or on your stereo

Thats a shame considering a 5.1 sound card costs less than a fiver these days... thanks for the info
