CD to DVD question
 

I want to backup some of my multi disked CD games to DVD. If I copy, for example, 3 CD's to DVD, will the game then install from the DVD, or will it ask for a cd? Or does it depend on the game? Does anyone do this? thanks

Why you don't easy TRY IT OUT ?

Instead of burning the DVD-R, you can make it to a DVD-Image file. Then mount this image in Alcohol 120% / Daemon Tools for trying...

Because I've not got a DVD writer. The only reason I can see to get one is to reduce the number of CD clutter lying arounf.

OK... You can try this way:

1. make a folder on your harddisk
2. copy all files from all cds (of the game) to this folder
3. install the game from this folder

If it's don't ask you for next cd, it will also work from one DVD-R.
But, it will not work with games with AudioTracks on the cds. Perhaps with multi-disc-games, where only on one cd are AudioTracks.

You can also make images of all cds and burn themall on the same dvdr. This way you can install them with relative ease with Daemon Tools or Alcohol120% if you need them.
