just wondering

hey guys...just wandering if the xbox supports dvd+rw media. i ask this ccause im gonna buy another burner sense the burner that i have crapped out. i had a dvr104. im thinking of buying a 106 cause it has dual formats. and if my xbox doesnt support the +r format then i dont think i have a reason to buy a dual format burner. i would rather just buy a dvd-rw burner instead.

Yes the XBox reads DVD+R / RW as long as your don't have a Samsung DVD-Rom in the XBox.

And if your going to go with a dual format burner, get the Sony DRU, its a great burner. Sony was the first to come out with it and they are still on top with it in my opinion.

I've been told the A06 is a great burner, all though have not got to play with one my self. Pioneer seems to be a favorite around the forums.

well i have a 104 but it seems to died on me. it doesnt read or write anymore. thats why im upgrading to the 106 instead. maybe it was a sign that my 104 crapped out to get a more updated one...haha :)

what firmware version were you running on the 104?

frequency 11-11-2003 08:25

i ran he hacked version 1.3. and i kinda new that this wanna gonna happen cause before i installed this firmware, i read in many different places that when people did this update that their 104's were messing up, not writing anymore and eventually stop working all together. my pioneer started messing up about 4 months ago. i would start getting coasters and bad burns and i didnt pay much attention to it until now. oh well.:(
