Big problem with Vietcong
He guys,
I've got a big problem  , i bought vietcong 2 days ago. Installed it an tried to run the game. Damn! nothing happens. Updated all my driver and got the latest patches (1.30). All worked fine, tried to start the game again, nothing happens. After a while i found out that the SecuROM protection wouldn't allow the cd to run of any cd- or dvd recorder. Problem is that i only have a cd- and dvd recorder. I don't have a normal cd-rom anymore  . So tried to use the No-CD crack for 1.30... When i tried to run the game my Comp reboots without warning or so ever. I tried everything, different patches, reinstalled many times, cleaned my reg, etc, etc... i'm really getting desperate. I won't use any normal cd-rom cause i think it's bulls**t to use protection that won't let u use something else than a normal cd-rom player... =specs= athlon 2400+ (2 Ghz) Aopen TI 4200 Aeolus 128 Mb 5.1 Dolby onboard 512 Mb asrock motherboard no ordenairy things i believe, could anyone help me please? :( |
2 things that isn't listed.
Direct X version and Window version check if you graphic card is supported! |
i've got DirectX 9.0 and my Graphic card is supported. Tried old and new drivers etc... I also played the demo which worked well for me. The damn thing just reboots over and over again... :(
|
Is it just when you using the crack or is it when you using original CD to? SecuROM protected game are allowed to run on CD-DVD/burner but check if you got alcohol or something else that's have virtual drivers can be blacklisted. I've only got a CD-Burner and the game works fine for me! And this is the first time I hear someone have problems with SecuROM and CD/DVD-Burners
|
It's only when i use the No-CD crack, I don't have alcohol. I do have NERO 6. i read somewhere that it might cause problems! :( Also i read somewhere in this forum that writers activate the securom protection because securom thinks it's an illigal version of the game....
|
Maybe a stupid question, but did u do a full install when u used the NO-CD crack ???
|
Yes. Did a full install then patched it to 1.01 and then to 1.30... got the fixed patch for 1.30 and it went on reboot mode or something... everytime i click on the vietcong.exe the system reboots spontaniously... :(
|
:( i think i found the problem. It's my DirectX, the new 9.0b. I was running DXDIAG and my damn comp rebooted again just out of the blue... Seems to be a problem with my Direct3D or something. Problem is i can't uninstall directX 9.0b.
Does anybody have a solution to this...? :( |
sometimes a bios-update helps, too
|
I had hella problems with this game myself. I have the good 'ol combination of directX 9b + my graphics card glitching on this chipset. (I cannot play any RTS)
ATi Radeon 9600 Pro. I don't get the random reboots, instead.. I get random freezes then the broken record effect with whatever music\sounds are playing at that moment. The latest CATs.. at least catch the gfx card and shuts down to desktop now.. But uh.. I dunno, this game is fubar. |
Dx9 uninstaller
There is a program called DirectX Buster that you can use to get rid of your sick version of it.
www.dxbuster.de But remember, when you do it all Direct X drivers will vanish from your computer so you have to reinstall a new Direct X bundle |
Thnx, i removed my directX completely together with al my sound, graphics an some other drivers. My Direct3D is working fine now. I can play Halo now, next thing is to reinstall Vietcong and try again i think. I removed Nero also to check if that is the reason why i can't read from my Vietcong CD.
The DirectX problem was related to Old remains of Nvidia drivers i think, and maybe my second VGA card, which is a small 8 Mb PCI card from SIS. Going to install the bunch step by step an we will see where the problem evolves... Thanx for your help All :) |
Vietcong is running fine now... ;)
Thanx 4 all the help guys... :) |
Oh everyday I learn something new. Didn't new that DirectX 9.0b have a problem. Well I know it next time!
