xbox chipping in uk
 

can any1 tell me if they know any reliable company that chips xbox's in lancashire or near by thanx.

Contact charlie_ps2 (here on the forums) and I'm sure he will be able to sell you a chip. Hes in the UK.

Sorry pal, but Charlie_ps2 wont be here, as he got busted a while back for modchip supplies. There was an article a while back with info on the case. If i can remember he got jailed. Not quite sure exactly, yet it was serious. Someone on the PS2 forum may know.


Computer fairs used to be a good place, yet loads got busted in Liverpool UK for selling DVD's and a couple of guys doing modifications on consoles.

Is chipping illegal in UK? Here in sweden you will not have to worry about that. There are big and legal companies selling chipped xbox's with preinstalled EvoX/Avalaunch with all the bioses you could ever dream of.

It's always sad when someone gets busted only because they do such simple thing as chipping or selling chips.

i used 2 go 2 computer fairs 2 get my chipping done aswell but he also got busted and no longer chips consoles can any1 tell me the laws for chipping and backing up games in the uk any info will be appreciated thanks.

As far as I am aware, it is illegal to mod any console (dont quote me on that) but not to back up games if you have the originals - but you can't play backed up games if you haven't got a modded box - catch 22

uk law states that it is perfectly legal to mod your xbox with a modchip but it's when you flash a bios that has hacked copywrited code in it that it becomes illegal
that is why most chips come pre flashed with the legal cromwell bios because with cromwell you cannot run copied games and so are not circumventing any protection's on the xbox
you can run linux with cromwell though

as for getting your xbox chipped why dont u try a no solder modchip
i was reading the review of the xenium sp ice no solder mod on xbox scene and the guy that reviewed it really put the xbox through it's paces and the chip didnt come loose once
