Cracks...The end has come

http://www.star-force.com/products/prof30/index.htm

Silent Storm uses it, and there ain't no cracks that work. Looks like the've finally stopped backups (At least with nocd's).

i have the crack for silent storm deviance made it. so it cant be that bad.nothing is uncrackable.

@t.foster73

I don't think so.
There have always been protections which seemed to be "uncrackable" the first time they appeared, but in the end....you know what I mean.

SF 3 certainly is a hard one, but there will always be cracks...no matter what protections are invented in the future.
Some years ago, it was impossible to create a working backup of SD protected games. Today almost every newborn can do it.....

One "wise" man said:"Everything that can be loaded into a machine can be cracked." (Forgot his name, shame on me :) ).

That is what we always should keep in mind.....

Thanks in advance!!

Yes, but can you install the game from a normal backup? This game is out in the UK today, and I was thinking of buying it until someone said it won't install from a backup. I want to be able to make a working backup so I can keep the original safe. Someone said you have to patch the install code from www.copybase.ch. I've been on this site, but its all in German, which I can't speak. Has anyone patched the Install code? In fact Do you need to patch the Install code? i.e.If you copy CD contents to desktop, burn with same label..will that backup install OK, or will it ask for the original during install? Thanks

tet666 07-11-2003 04:04

no it wont work this way the installer has a copyprotection in it that checks the cds you need to make a image with clonecd or something like that and patch it with twinpeaks .you need a bwa file for your silent storm version to do so ,you can download it from copybase.ch.

krondike 07-11-2003 04:05

Read the backup stickeys. Then you find out if the backup 1:1 is impossible you can copy the folder to the harddriver then burn!

The game is on a dvd....just you know...:p

tet666 07-11-2003 04:08

i dont know about other versions but the german and austrian version is on 2 cds
and you cant just copy the files to your harddisk and then burn them as i said before there is a copyprotection in the installer that checks the cd and it wont work this way!

t.foster73 07-11-2003 04:10

I'm not used to patching in this way. Where do I get Twinpeaks software from? Thanks

tet666 07-11-2003 04:11

its on copybase.ch download section
http://copybase.ch/Copybase.cbdll/NAV|8f14e45f|7

So when it's patched does that mean the INSTALL protection is removed? SO are all Securerom v.4 game Install Exe's protected, or is it just certain titles?

tet666 07-11-2003 04:43

when its patched it means that its a 1- 1 copy its like the original .and i havent seen any other games that have a copyprotection in the installer apart from silent storm

The One 07-11-2003 05:35

Operation Flashpoint has copy protection in the updates which is similar to this. It is probably possible to patch the setup program just as you would the game executable. I don't have the game so I don't know

TippeX 07-11-2003 05:50

flashpoint updates were protected with safedisc, so you had to have the original (or a working backup or mounted) cd/image present to install the update...
