NHL 2004 with nocdcrack need german stadiumspeaker, please help me!

Hi, my kids love playing nhl2004, but they ruin every cd the get their grubby little hands on...

I am from Germany, my kids don´t speak any english.

Due to the nocd-crack the stadium speaker talks only in english.

Can someone tell me how to work this out?

Thanx

Marauder

Maybe there is a way to change the language in the game???

Marauder900 06-11-2003 07:11

no...

There is no way to change the language in the game.
When you install the game you choose between us/german/dutch/etc. .
All menues are in german, only the in-game-comments (ouch,
sorry, school-english) are in english...

Thanx anyway

Yepp the Speakers in the game is English. Has always been. And you can't change it! :(

Like Swedish one, You can have a meny that's in Swedish, you can have presentation on a famuys swedish guy, but the comments are in English and the Game Speaker...

strange. the german version you can _buy_ always had german commentary. anyone here who can proof me wrong?

----------
so weit ich weiss, gibts hier immer eine komplett lokalisierte version. entweder die haben das dieses jahr geändert oder du hast dir die falsche version gezogen <- und das ist hier nicht erwünscht...

krondike 06-11-2003 10:35

I can't proof that you have wrong. Becuase there are some language that game developer do translate to. Becuase the people haven't been force to learn english.

I think it Spain, France, and German. in europe. Many game dev, do translate in to those game. So it don't supprise me. But when a german person say that he have problem....I doubt they have done it this time. :o

Marauder900 06-11-2003 14:32

Thank you all...

I bought the game via ebay for 25 Euro and it is in fact a NOT localised version with only english comments.

Though the menus are in german, I anticipated that there is
a german comment, too.

Testing the game with restored original exe. and original CD,
there was still only english comment.

I was tricked by the ebay-seller, who claimed it to be a german version,

SORRY TO HAVE BOTHERED YOU!

Not at all!
You haven't break any boarder rules that newbies are experts to do. :D

Kanalradde 07-11-2003 04:11

You weren't tricked.
There is no version with German speech at all.

The version sold in Germany has German (in fact multi-language) text but English speech.

Reason:
Up to NHL2001 there was a version with German commentary, but most disliked it (because the German commentary was much worse than the English one), so EA decided to use the English one since NHL2002.

krondike 07-11-2003 04:21

And I think the .exe file for 2000 are multi-language also... That mean that you can change to enlgish in the game....with out any futher .exe files....:D

The stadium speaker was always speaking English (I mean, why not, the NHL is an North American league, why the heck should the stadium speaker yell goal announcements in GERMAN??? The included DEL teams are just "Firlefanz" ;) ;) ;) ).

But to mention the off-topic stuff someone started here:
You're sure the commentary is English in the German version of NHL 2004? Strange...
The last NHL Hockey I had was NHL 2002 (the one with Lemieux on the cover), and there WAS a German commentary (together with an accent-speaking american player, that was fun :D ).

Btw: If you change the language in EA sports games, only the texts change. The voice acting remains bound to each of the localized versions of the game (correct me if I'm wrong).
Would be BS if they'd pack 5 different language-voicepacks on the CD and waste disk space this way....

Yes, you're right, the last version with German commentary wasn't the 2001 but the 2002 one, since 2003 there is no German "play-by-play" anymore.

btw:
Rick Amann (the accent-speaking guy) is not an American, but a Canadian, who has German forefathers and played for several German ice hockey clubs. that's him

And if you don't mind, that's not my problem, is it? ;)

Eagle 07-11-2003 07:46

anyway, NHL2002/2003 was more fun playing.

2004 got too simulation-alike.
