Soldering
Ok..its not easy to size up whether or not $75.00 is enough for someone to connect a chip into my PS2 so I can play burned games - yes I can afford it, but is the service really that worth it?
Is it possible to go to Radio Shack buy a $15(?) Soldering Iron maybe find some broken computers to practice on and pick up some of the right kind of wire (?) and just put a chip in myself? Basically, how difficult is it to became good at soldering and not break my PS2 and successfully install a no-swap mod? Any tips, advice, criticisms, or links or appreciated...thanks |
Getting someone to install it for you is worth every penny, especially if you have zero soldering experience. Only $60 for Bill of www.freedomlives.com to do the install. I know someone who will do it for $30 as well. Send me a pm if you are interested.

If he is a good installer and will do it for $30 then go for it.Thats the cheapest i have ever seen, me as well as most of the installers i know charge $60 bucks and you furnish the chip, i furnish the wire and skill.
