Hi I bought Turok Evolution today really excited. And I installed it and got this message when I clicked on the EXE.

This application requires functionality that is
not available on your Direct3D hardware accelerator.

This application will now exit

Im running-

Windows XP
AMD Athlon 2400
512DDR
GForce 4 MX440

I hope someone can help

First: please edit your post to OT, cos it is off-topic.

Second: Some of the latest games do NOT support MX cards, but I don't know about Turok evolution. Have you checked the system requirements ?

yea done all that. Ive also been in touch with acclaim about it and a few other people are having the same problem.

I don't get it. I can play games like Max Payne 2, and all my other games.

So its a mystery to me really.

If ACCLAIM confirms that your card is supported....mmh and checking all the other stuff like latest drivers and DirectX leads you nowhere, you may have to wait for a patch...., I don't know any other answer here.

Thx for trying to help m8. Acclaim to me to call back tomorrow, because they have been sent a copy of the game. And then I may know something tomorrow.

Try installing the latest nVidia detonator drivers and DirectX9

Ive got the latest drivers for my geforce, and got direct x9.0b installed.

So I don't know what the problem is considering I can play all my other games (including Max Payne 2)

on the german retail box it says:
GeForce 4MX cards are not supported !

cheers for that information cdkiller. That could be the problem im having.

That is what I said in my very FIRST post !!
