Quick question on ps2 mod

I used to have the earlier Messiah which used the Gameshark to load.
so now i upgraded to Messiah 2. I asked the guy that upgraded for me if i can still use gameshark but he didnt quite answer me.
is it possible to still use it for games or do i have to use codebreaker or something?

Messiah didn't require the use of GS to boot games. Yes you can use your GS with your M2.

how because when i tried it froze after pressing x after the disk change section

Then u prob don't have a real M2.

any idea what i might have then
when loading dvds i just
insert ps2 game in the system and power off by holding the <reset>. then hit the reset once for the game to load.

for psx games
press and hold reset until the blue sky is out. let go and the disk will load

for dvd movies
just open and close the disk tray with the dvd movie inside.

but i can also use the gameshark with normal games just not
dvd-r or cd-r games

Could be anything. Try inserting a backup ps2 game and let it sit. It should boot on its own if was a real M2. Your psx and dvd boot procedure(hold reset) should also be the same if you have a real M2.

yea if i do put a backup ps2 game in and do nothing it does load

bighap 30-10-2003 12:28

How bout dvd movies?

Kuppo 30-10-2003 12:37

I load it the same as my psx games
from stand by mode with teh dvd inside i hold onto the reset button until the sony computer entertainment inc. sign is gone (until the blue background turns black)

Still could be anything, since most mods use those boot procedures. Only way to tell is to open it up and have a look.
