Noob need big time help
 

ok im new to the xbox scene i have read a bit, just installed a Xecuter 2.2 lite plus for my kids xbox, i got the cronwell screen and it wants a bios cd, help dont have any idea what to do. i have read about how to burn it and so on.Just dont know what to use or wher to get one. and when that is done can we play copied games! thx

Go to the downloads section and download the "ozxflash software". Burn it to a disk. Then find some hacked X2 bios (4977 is best in my opinion). Then, make sure the bios is the correct size (1mb i think, don't try anything untill you confirm or someone here does though). After you have the right size, rename it to "bios.bin" and burn it to a cd-rw, with nothing else on the disk.

You should have
-ozxflash
-disk with only bios.bin on it

After, just load up the ozXflash software, it will open the dvd tray automatically (do not press the eject button), then replace the disk with the bios one. DO NOT CLOSE THE TRAY. It will automatically close after a minute or so (a message will display telling you not to close the tray). It will then flash the bios and power off. As long as your ship wasn't write protected, it should have been flashed and working.

Yep you need a 1mg BIOS file. Its really easy to do. You mite have to try several different brands of CD-RW before your XBox will read the disks. You can also use DVDs.

You can also buy a X2 programmer from Xecuter 2 Programmer from the Console Corner for $19.99 USD + S&H to flash your chip. This is was easyer then messing around with burning CDs and what not. On the down side it will take a few days before you get it if you decide you want to order it.

rms, im curious. The X2 can hold 2 512k bios or 1mb bios. When you flash the chip, does it matter which the bios selection switch is on?
