DVD Writer
 

I gonna be getting DVD Writer soon, which I'm gonna be using to back up PS2 games... I gather I'll be needing a DVD-R writer, but is there anything else I sholuld be looking for? Or will all DVD-R writers be basically the same?

Pioneer is a favorite of nearly everybody here. The A05 is a 4x -r burner. The A06 is a 4x -r/+r multiformat burner. You don't really need the ability to burn to +r, but some people like to have it anyways. you might want to invest into a dvd-rom as well for making the images of your games. It will save some wear on your burner and it is faster.

get an pioneer 106 and a lg dvd rom

Money's really not on my side, though. I have a DVD-ROM drive already, though. I've seen one dual format drive for £100 though (Here ). Will it make much difference what type I get?

Oi bighap. I was gonna tell him that. i got my dvd writer from there pioneer 106. it was 128 pounds but its only 99 pounds now wish i waited hehe oh well i recomend them

I recently got another DVD Burner after having to take my PIONEER back for money reasons, and they didnt have the AO5 - discountinued - and all they had were a ton of knock offs and POLAROIDS. I grabbed a TDK and I gotta say it works like a damn charm. Not one bad burn yet. It's dual format which I dont need, but I've seen that ALOT of places arent carrying single format burners anymore.

The reason why i got a dvd writer is to backup my ps2 games and dvd movies not to sell disks on the dodgy i am against that and hate people that do it so dont acuse me of piracy. I realy dont like it when bands get ripped of because people are downloading songs and selling them the music industry is going bust and i dont like it specialy one of my fav bands is going to be signed up and i dont want them to be ripped off by some warez downloading person so please next time think before you write
