Noisey when playing back ups

I have got the new PS2 v9 I think, but when I play my back ups using Vertabatim cdrs the PS2 is alot noisier than when playing the original game.

I have also tried a back up of one of my DVDs on DVD+RW which runs fine but I tried to back up Devil May Cry 2 on to a DVD+RW using the Tutorial for Recordnow Max and all the PS2 does is click at the back up.

I am using a Swap Magic and Slide Card, could this be my problem?

Lasers being noisy is normal. If its really loud then your laser may need adjusting. Your prob with DMC is that you may need to burn on better media because that game requires a lot of laser activity.

BTW your choice on modchips is a poor one. No offence but there are better chips with less bugs out there.

Tyler!

Thanks Tyler,

The laser makes a really loud clicking noise when trying DMC but on Vertabatum CDRs the noise is bearable.

I am using a TDK DVD+RW for the DMC, what is the best make to do DVD back ups on? My writer does DVD+R as well I think but are DVD-Rs more compatable with the PS2?

I know the Slide isnt the best Mod, after I got it and read these forums :o I have been trying to find out about a M2 but will prob wait until the v9 issue has been sorted.

Use a +r instead of a +rw. Should be quieter then.

Hi Bighap,

Do you think that would stop the loud clicks and let the game load? I was going to try DVD+RW first to see if I had backed up ok and then put on DVD+R (So I dont waste loads of DVD+R discs) but do u think it may be worth going directly to DVD+R as I followed the Recordnow tutorial?

Thank you for your help,

Thanks, Ill try directly to DVD+R then.

Just what I needed to let me talk her in to letting me get a DVD-R Drive, nice one ;)

How do i turn Auto Insert Notification OFF on Recordnow max, and would this have a big effect. I couldnt find the option but found the Autorun Shield ON ok.

Here

Thanks Bighap,

What do I do if I cant see the Auto Insert Notification section at the bottom of the screen, I am using version 4.50 of RNM.

Would this option be what is causing my discs not to play?

bighap 22-10-2003 15:29

I have never changed that setting and have zero problems, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Gizzy98 22-10-2003 15:36

Lovely job, thanks. Ive just got a couple of DVD+R's so will give that a try.

What is better at the mo a M2 or a Apple Pro, bearing in mind ive got a v9 which I think the M2 has problems with at the mo?

Thanks again,

bighap 22-10-2003 15:40

Apple Pro doesn't support v9. The current Messiah 2 that supports the v9, 1.31, has some issues. I would give it a month until some more v9 mods are released.
