New @ DVD Burn -> Burn Problems !!!

I have a new DVD-+RW. I have a game ISO on PC, and burn a DVD-R with 120%. All OK, the games start on the XBOX, but very slow, and after a while the games crashes...
I had another DVD-R with another game that works OK, but it was not burned by me...
What can be the problem ??? I already trie to burn at 1x and 4x.

first off i hate and i mean hate ! iso images. the best and most reliable way to backup a xbox game is with the data burn method see stickies.

if you made the image then just ftp the data over from the xbox again and data burn. if you did not make the iso then you'r screwed

Why do you hate ISO image? I make them all the time when I back up my Xbox games.

Well, there is always a chance of error with the iso images. If you do a databurn, then it will work just as good, you can also view the contents of the disk in a pc dvd-rom.

It is just more secure. If you make a bad iso and burn, then the game does not work, iso fault is a possibilitiy and probably the problem. If you do a databurn and you get an error, you know it must be the diisk you burned to (or you ftp'd bad, but unless your using nexgen i've never seen that problem).

Well Ive been using Simplexiso ever since its come out and Ive never ever had a problem. As a matter of fact my games load faster after using it, rather than doing a databurn.

yea i despise isos as well
they just take forever to open
freezes the comp basically
its horrible
go for dudes data burn

TylerDurden 16-10-2003 22:19

What do you mean "takes forever to open up"? I only need to make one backup of each of my games.

he probably means that creating the iso can take a long time depending on the size of the game, Databurn is just a normal burn.

Also wanted to say that i made an iso of soul calibur which played on my xbox fine. When i tried to run it on my friends xbox, it failed to run, even recognize as a game disk. Did a datburn and it booted like a charm. I used isomaker 2.0 gui with gfimage, which is as good as you can get because it's what the xdk uses.

Alabaca 17-10-2003 00:57

Can you explain to me what do you mean with data burn ???

dude 17-10-2003 02:46

i'll go one better than that.

go to the xbox section and click on the stickie post labled "DATA BURN WITH SCREEN SHOTS" it will show you what to do. also depending on the game you may need to patch it.

patching is a very simple thing to do.
option 1. flash you'r mod chip with x2. 4977 bios or newer this contains the media check bypass.

option 2. get a programme called isocraxtion. and patch the default.xbe file on the game prior to burning.

tyler. the reason i hate iso images for xbox games is because i have tried all of the iso tools and had poor results with all of them. where as i have yet to have a data burn fail. also it's quicker and easier to do a data burn rather than create a iso.

TylerDurden 17-10-2003 05:32

@Quall999

Ok I guess I see your point about the time issue. But I still have never had any problems. 78 games and still going.

@dude when I first started I used databurn but noticed very LONG load times with my xbox. I then was informed to use Isomaker and that did it. Everything had been spead up. Now Im using Simplexiso ever since I heard it works better than the long praised Isomaker. It also uses less of your pc's resources (a lot less).

No real noticealbe difference between Isomaker and Simplexiso for load times. But Simplexiso lets me multitask when using it.
