Binhack

I recently tried Megalexxx's hex changes to Yu Suzuki Game Works to force all the games to 60Hz on a pal DC, but when I burned it again as a self boot, I got the old reset after it loads IP.bin.

I think I know what's wrong, it had an original LBA of 11700, and when I make self boots it's 11702. I hacked the 1ST_READ.bin, which brings me to my question... I suspect where I have gone wrong is that more than one bin needs hacking. My question is, when making a self boot, how do you find out which files need to be binhacked?

Thanks in advance!

In most of the games, you can look for bin files containing the string "CD001".
But, you can also make an image of your selfboot CD? and then use my patcher on your whole image.

Thanks, I'll give it a go :)

Hi,
I have a similar problem with Yu Suzuki. I had checked all the bins and found a cd001 reference in several. I made sure they were all set to lba 11702 or 5C2E, but I wasn't able to get it to boot. I was trying to launch it from my web browser (Psilocybin Dreams 2.0), so it needs to be at the 11702 lba. I haven't gotten my browser to load from anything but a 11702 lba.

That brings me to another question. Once a binary has been hacked with hack3, how do you undo it to put it back at 45000 lba? I'm not talking about binhack, but the +155 and +166 references. I never did understand that. Also, is that why some games that are set to 11700 or don't work when you try binhacking them to 11702 lba? Is is those +155 and +166 references?

Thanks,
-Ex
